Sediment is reader-funded and contributor-led. We welcome work from writers and image-makers at any stage of their practice.
Guidelines
- Read at least one issue before submitting. Issue 04 is current.
- Essays: 1,500–8,000 words. Send the full draft, not a pitch.
- Photo essays: 8–24 plates, with a one-page editorial note.
- Interviews: please query first with a short paragraph on the subject.
- Fieldnotes: 200–1,200 words. Dated, located, signed.
- We pay on acceptance. Rates are listed in the response email.
- Response time: 6–10 weeks. We reply to every submission.
